Katie Clark has nearly two dozen books for children and teens published or under contract. She holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, and she has worked with children and teens for two decades in the preschool, elementary, and high school settings. She spends her free time writing, learning languages, and making yummy treats in her kitchen. A Dim Hope is Katie's 10th novel.

"Amber is in trouble. Her sister is dying and so is her homeland. The Lifeforce stones that power their world are waning, and no one knows why. When the rulers of the land prepare a scientific expedition to study the place where the veins of the Lifeforce run deep, Amber's master forces her to travel as a servant with the expedition.
